Thousands of Verizon users across the U.S. experienced widespread outages on Monday morning, with over 100,000 reports submitted through Downdetector in the past 24 hours. The outages were concentrated in major cities like Chicago, Atlanta, and Phoenix, leaving many users without service. Reports indicated that 56% of users experienced mobile phone issues, 32% reported no signal, and some said their phones had been stuck in "SOS" mode for hours.
At 10:50 a.m. ET, Verizon had not released an official update regarding the outage. However, a company representative acknowledged the problem, stating that engineers were actively working to resolve it. This outage coincides with broader disruptions caused by Hurricane Helene, which has left many on the East Coast without power and impacted cellphone service.
