Android Auto May Soon Feature Gemini AI Integration

According to recent reports, Google’s expansive AI model, Gemini, is poised to make its way into Android Auto. This potential integration was hinted at through discovery in the latest Android Auto update, where code reveals a new feature that could soon bring the power of Gemini AI to car dashboards.

Android Authority highlighted that a telltale sign of this integration is the appearance of a sparkle icon—associated with Gemini—within the app's code. Additionally, references to "kitt" and commands like "Start conversation" and "GeminiLiveAssistantAction" suggest that Google is preparing to enhance the Android Auto experience with advanced AI capabilities.

While there has been no official announcement, the move aligns with Google's ongoing strategy to integrate Gemini AI across various platforms. If introduced, Gemini could significantly elevate Android Auto's functionality by providing more personalized and intelligent responses to drivers' queries. This could include real-time updates on directions, traffic conditions, and even finding nearby amenities, all while utilizing Google Maps.

However, to fully access Gemini’s advanced features, users need a Google One AI Premium subscription, which costs $20 monthly. This plan is required to access Gemini's more sophisticated capabilities and higher-quality image generation with Imagen 3.
