AI's Potential Dark Side: Models Capable of Self-Generated Cyberattacks

A recent study by researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has demonstrated that some large language models (LLMs), particularly OpenAI’s GPT-4, can autonomously generate malicious scripts to exploit known security vulnerabilities.

- The model demonstrated the ability to follow nearly 50 steps to exploit specific vulnerabilities, showcasing a sophisticated understanding of complex, multi-step processes.
